United Way’s Governing Board adds four members

To prepare for its 97th year of service, the United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona recently announced the election of four local community leaders to its Board of Directors. The slate includes Dr. Robert Robbins, president of the University of Arizona, Jean Savage, vice president of surface mining and technology at Caterpillar Inc., Catherine Ries, vice president of customer and human resources at Tucson Electric Power and Paul Stapleton-Smith, chair of the Pima Area Labor Federation.

“Our new board members are bringing to our United Way not only their principled leadership, but a passion for service and the same uniting spirit that has woven its way through everything we’ve done in this community for nearly a century,” said Tony Penn, president and CEO of the United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona. “This United Way, and the many constituencies with whom we partner to build a thriving community, will benefit greatly from their service—and that reaffirms our creed that united, we all win.”


Tucson Parks adds to board

The Tucson Parks Foundation is pleased to announce the addition of the following community leaders to its board. They include Teresa Bravo, Pima County Economic Development and International Projects Coordinator; Dan Chambers, who is retired and a community philanthropist; Sara Kaufman, Southern Arizona Adult Tennis League Coordinator and Annemarie Medina, YMCA of Southern Arizona Vice President of Corporate and Community Partnerships.

The Tucson Parks Foundation is a non profit, 501(c)(3) organization established in 1983 to provide philanthropic support to the Tucson Parks and Recreation Department


Alliance Bank of Arizona’s Tucson team adds member

Jaime (Jimmy) Muñozcano has joined Alliance Bank of Arizona’s Tucson team as vice president of commercial loans.

A Southern Arizona native, Muñozcano has returned to Arizona after working for Bank of Colorado as vice president. Prior to that, Muñozcano was a commercial loan officer in Gallup, New Mexico and a branch president in Pagosa Springs, Colorado.

Muñozcano received his B.A. from Thomas Aquinas College in Santa Paula, California and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking in Boulder, Colorado.

With Alliance Bank of Arizona, Muñozcano will develop commercial loan and deposit relationships in Southern Arizona.
