The Tucson Jewish Community saluted Fran Katz as its “Professional of the Year” for her work to enhance Jewish life in all facets of the community. She received the Ben & Betty Brook Community Professional of the Year Award and a monetary gift from the Mark and Robert Brook family endowment. The award was presented by Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona outgoing Chairman Shelly Silverman at the non-profit organization’s recent 2019 community awards celebration and annual meeting.
As JFSA’s senior vice president, Katz works tirelessly and effectively with community leaders and professionals, juggling great responsibilities, according to Silverman. Katz oversees the nonprofit’s annual campaign, young leadership development, women’s philanthropy, marketing, and advertising for the bi-weekly Arizona Jewish Post newspaper.
