The YWCA’s mission is eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. It provides a wide range of services and programs that are helping level the playing field for women.
The Stand Together Arizona Training & Advocacy Center seeks systemic reform in Arizona, while the Women’s Center for Economic Opportunity equips 1,200 women each year with tools and to get jobs, advance their careers and become community leaders. The Microbusiness Advancement Center works primarily in South Tucson, offering bilingual programming to support grassroots entrepreneurs and drive local, sustainable business development–including Southern Arizona’s only kitchen business incubator. YWCA has been leading the fight for women’s rights and social justice for 100 years.
For 29 years, YWCA has hosted the largest and longest running Women’s Leadership Conference in Southern Arizona. This year, YWCA is boldly reimagining ways in which women are “taking the lead”. Through a full-day of inspirational keynote speeches and thought provoking workshops that will spark conversations and launch creative frameworks, this year’s conference aspires to build strong networks and empower a new generation of millenial leaders.
YWCA Southern Arizona invites the public to “take the lead” on Nov. 10 at the JW Marriott Starrpass Resort. Early bird registration is now open, and this year, a “young leader” registration option has been added. Tickets and more information is available at ywcatucson.org.
