Quik Tek Assembly, an Arizona-based high-tech manufacturing firm, is expanding to Tucson with a southside facility expected to open next month.

The company provides a wide range of contract manufacturing services including circuit and cable design; printed circuit board (PCB) layout and manufacture; PCB, cable and mechanical assembly; product testing and the manufacture of complete product ready to ship. Its clients include Raytheon.

Quik Tek plans to fill 50 positions over the next five years. Jobs will be a mix of engineering, manufacturing, administrative and technician positions. The company worked with TREO, the city of Tucson, Pima County One-Stop Career Center, Arizona Commerce Authority and Startup Tucson on its expansion.

“Southern Arizona is a growing market, and we needed to be close to both existing and new potential customers,” said Quik Tek President Adan Ortiz in a statement. “Additionally, we look forward to contributing to workforce development by encouraging STEM interest and providing student internships in partnership with the University of Arizona and Pima Community College.”

The Tucson operations will be located in an 8,000 square-foot building at 3450 S. Broadmont, Suite 120, off Palo Verde between Ajo and 36th. The company plans a $700,000 capital investment at the location.

Quik Tek is headquartered in Tempe and was started in 2009.
